Lady Gaga is proving a tour de force on the big screen and it looks like a role in the sequel to the ‘Joker’ may be next on the cards for Mother Monster.

Full story below…

According to THR, Gaga is in talks to star in ‘Joker 2’ as Harley Quinn.

Should she officially land the gig, the multihyphenate would appear opposite Joaquin Phoenix who reprises his role as the titular character.

Rumors of Gaga starring as Harley Quinn have been gaining volume over the last year and now an inside source confirms that she is indeed in contention.

Interestingly, the same source claims that the ‘Joker’ sequel will be a musical – further cementing the likelihood of the Oscar winner on-boarding.

For those wondering where this leaves Margot Robbie (who has starred in multiple DC films as Quinn), word is that the incoming flick is set in a different universe with a different array of characters.

*********

One has to wonder whether this is more of a confirmation than a tease. Because the hype machine is already in action for the Todd Phillips-directed film.

Earlier this month, Phillips shared a post of a script titledJoker: Folie à deux – with Pheonix reading it.

Furthermore, Gaga – who earned rave reviews for her recent performance in ‘House of Gucci’ – has an established history with Warner Bros, following the mammoth success of 2018’s ‘A Star Is Born.’

We’re excited. Are you?!

Welp! They just ruined it for me!! I don’t go to the movies to hear singing, unless its a biopic on an EPIC singer/performer. Musicals are for Broadway, not the silver screen.

      Agreed.

I’m here for this. I prefer Gaga the actor more than Gaga the singer and she’ll put on a clinic in this role!

When there’s an audience wanting more of the formula that worked in the original film, what makes the producers want to turn the whole thing upside-down? If the goal was to basically make another Sweeney Todd, they should’ve done it from the beginning.
